By describing multiple examples from various baseball games, Abdul-Jabbar is able to depict why video instant replay is necessary.

Kareem represents the athletes who believe that game officials should utilize instant replay anytime a call seems remotely unclear. As a former athlete, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar recognizes the difficult job that is being a game official. He says, "I know the players themselves in the various professional sports appreciate the commitment and competence of the officials who work their games" (ESPN).
